About
Mae Simpson, based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota, blurs the lines between a wide range of
influences—from the depth and energy of funk and rock to the melodic edge of R&B and folk.
Led by Mae Simpson, whose voice has been described as “larger than life — but not as large as
her uncontainable energy that radiates from the stage” (Minnesota Public Radio), the band is
known for intense, high-energy performances that emphasize real human connection between
musicians and audience.
Since emerging in 2019, Mae Simpson has built a strong following across the Midwest,
performing on notable stages including First Avenue Mainroom, The Fillmore Minneapolis,
Basilica Block Party, Blue Ox Music Festival, and Live on King Street.
The band has opened for nationally touring artists including Dermot Kennedy, Grace Potter, Karl
Denson’s Tiny Universe, Robert Cray, Rubblebucket, Langhorne Slim, Pert Near Sandstone, and
Yonder Mountain String Band.
If you are a fan of artists such as Alabama Shakes, Lake Street Dive, and Bruce Springsteen, Mae
Simpson delivers a powerful, roots-driven live show that leaves a lasting impression.
